XYplorer Beta Club

I open photos with a viewer (Faststone) and exit via Middle click. Unfortunately on return xyplorerfree opens a new tab.
Any way round this? I tried using Autohotkey to convert Mid-click to an Escape but no joy.

Two solutions
1) easy one. Left click once on fsviewer, then middle click out.

2) position the cursor outside the area where XY's active pane would be, before middle click.
