Keep the Tree in Synch

Hey,

Okay it's not the first time it's been said that on occasion, the Tree might not be in synch with the actual content of the disks. For example, when folders are created/deleted by another app (FTP client, compression soft, etc)

I think a little thing chould be added that could greatly improve the synch of the Tree, and hopefully wouldn't slow down browsing (or not too much).

Couldn't the Tree get "resynch" whenever a folder is being browsed. Since all its actual folders are known from filling the List, why not update the Tree if needed then ?
Cause I know most of the times when looking for the folders created by FTP or WinRAR I'll browse to the parent folder to get there (usually through Catalog, Favorites, Hotlist, etc), but then I'd like to have the Tree in synch, either because I wanna go to a subfolder, or because I just find it easier that way (it's a one click thing, unlike through List, 2 clicks action)
Same way, usually when I notice deleted folders still on Tree I'm on the parent, so it would again solve this issue here!

The only thing I don't know is, how would it affect the browsing, would it (really) slow things down?

Depending on performance I'd be interested in this.

Ya, me too. Since I have folder sizes turned on all the time, I probably wouldn't notice it.
