It would be nice to create a one step funtion new folders with nested subfolders

Right click on list, NEW ITEMS.
If you GO TO NEW ITEMS FOLDER, there you can create/paste your structured folder.

You may also want to enable General > Sort and Rename > Allow move on rename.
This will allow you to create a new folder and then rename it to 'A\B\C\D' to create the entire tree.
