Open in new tab when a folder is opened externally

I frequently use Everything search to quickly look for a folder and open it with the default File manager. Now as my default file manager is XY, pressing Enter in the Everything window opens the new location in the current active tab and thus spoils my ongoing work.
I would rather like new folders to be opened either in the default tab or in a new tab.
Opening in new tab is possible with Shift-Click but that works only inside the program.
Opening in default tab will only happen if I lock the active/parent tab.

Is there any way to make XY open new folders except from the tree/catalog in a new tab always ?

Thanks

Config(F9) -> Startup & Exit ->tick "Open commandline start path in new tab"
(yeah, it's not apparent that setting applies in this case :) )

AFAIK, it might not always create new tabs. Any open tab with matching path may be activated.
