hello everybody,
been checking out the free version for a while (W7 Pro/64), found many cool innovative features, but now I need help with a totally basic feature, please :
What keys do I have to assign to the "scroll L/R" buttons of my Logitech mouse (4way/tilt wheel) to do exactly that ?
Contrary to all other programs (and also Win Explorer) this vital function (I have lots of nested folders, so the tree frequently requires scrolling) needs repeated clicking, maybe 10 or 20 clicks, to scroll from L to R or vice versa.
The Setpoint mouse driver is quite flexible, I can assign keys + modifiers and many custom functions, but no luck so far, unfortunately.
I'm aware of the "hover over horizontal scrollbar + MW" thing, but that's no real substitute ...
Any help appreciated,

XY has no keys to LR scroll the tree.

But the wheel should work anyway. Not sure why it does not, and I cannot test it here lacking such a mouse. Hopefully somebody else can help.

the wheel itself works fine for regular up/down scrolling.
On Logitech mice the wheel can be pressed (tilted) L/R for L/R scroll, which basically triggers two regular buttons (you could assign them other functions too).
Looks like other programs accept the scroll command being repeated by the driver as long as the wheel is "tilted", while xyplorer only executes the command once ...
Dunno if this makes any sense, I'm no programmer.

It's an old, battered Dell Premium mouse, lost all it's definitive identity in the course of duty...

Edit: do you have some software to control the mouse? I remember something similar. The wheel was setup to do sonething else there. I just uninstalled the software, and it's (the hardware) been working just fine.

Thanks, yes, the driver has extensive options to assign functions individually on application basis, which I can't let go.
However it is definitely set to scroll left/right, with both speed and acceleration maxed, which works perfectly in all other apps I've ever used, since W2k days, Windows, browsers, image viewers, pdf viewers, office apps, you name it.
The issue can be reproduced 1:1 on another system with a totally different, current Logitech driver called "Gaming Software", mind you, not one game installed, but it controls multiple button functions for the G700 mouse.

Ok, solved it by manually editing setpoint's user.xml.

It is like I suspected, XYplorer somehow handles L/R scroll in a non-standard way, making it necessary to manually enforce an application specific repeat.
Looks like most other apps keep scrolling as long as the wheel is tilted, while XYplorer only scrolls by a single tick.

Latest setpoint 6.65 with uberoptions 4.85, I've ended up with

FirstRepeatDelay="50" RepeatDelay="20"

, ymmv.

Maybe there is a chance now to standardize the L/R scroll behaviour in XYplorer ?
This would help a lot of users who can't be bothered to investigate for hours, and Logitech mice are pretty good and popular.
I'd happily volunteer to test any changes ...

(Now I remember...) Actually I failed to mention h-scrolling was pretty slow here too.

Maybe you find a user.xml too in your driver's app data folder ?
I'm pretty sure some Dell mice are in fact Logitech OEMice, not sure about the driver though.
