Sigh. Do you have a screenshot of the layout you want? I hardly remember how it looked...

I always have a lot of tabs opens => very crowded tabbar => need to utilize every milimetre of screen space

fresh works fine here. Something is wrong at your place.

Imo, it makes sense that the BC bar is as wide as the tab bar.

Another opinion: The Wide Tabs feature may be one I'd take advantage of if I add a few more tabs, but the BC bar extending across the entire tree and list seems a little odd /ugly especially since as you said, it doesn't take up much real estate. Would it be possible to have the BC configurable as well, normal over the list only or "wide" as you currently have it? People could have their choice for both the Tab Bar and the BC bar - long or short.
