Rename then delete bug??

Interesting little "effect" - I'm not sure if it's a bug or not.
A list of files and folders, Natural numeric sort, Folders apart, Folders on top, Auto refresh on file system changes off, Resort list immediately after rename off.
Create several new folders in the list view (Ctrl+N). They all appear at the bottom of the list, as they should.
Select one and rename it - it does not reposition in the list, again as it should.
But... Delete one of the New Folders and the other New Folders then reposition in the list. My first reaction was that all the new folders had been deleted because they moved out of view (long list of files and folders).
If "Auto refresh on file system changes" is off should deleting a file re-sort the list? Delete is a file system change and therefore I would have thought it should not resort the list.
