Please consider adding an "Apply" button to the many preference dialogs (where applicable).

I have a very vague memory about this topic being discussed before and the reason it wasn't possible was due to some basic architecture that would make it way too much effort to change for Don to consider doing it...

Sometimes the innocent simple looking thing is actually much more complex and crazy underneath. Like an iceberg.
