Find inherits Browse columns - good?

Has anybody tried this tweak from v13.80.0112? Should I raise it UI level? Is it maybe even good enough to make it the new factory default?

Code: Select all

    + Tweak to inherit Browse mode columns, view, and sort order to the Find
      mode (= Search Results listing), analog to the changes to Branch View in
      v13.80.0109. Affects Quick Name Search as well as Find Files.
        FindInheritColumns=1

Haven't tried it yet. But I definitely wouldn't expect such a switch buried deep down in the land of tweaks because that's some of those options I immediately check once I notice them.

Cheers,

I have set it immediately after the release. And I won't change it back. I have already said thanks for it in the appropriate topic.

However, in case of Search templates which have a saved search location I feel it a bit clumsy. In this case the search has nothing to do with the actual tab, so I wouldn't expect to inherit columns. Maybe column layout should be saved with the template. Or, more generally, columns shouldn't be inherited if the search location is different from the actual tab path. Whatever, I let you decide what to do (or to do anything at all). Your refined thinking seems to be working really well nowadays. :wink:

Agreed, it should not be done with search templates (at least when they search a different location).
