How to Restore Custom Toolbar & Other Settings?

My computer crashed & I had to restore the OS. After re-installing XYPlorer, I copied the usual files (*.ini, catalog.dat files, etc.). I didn't lose any catalog data, but my toolbar is not the way I set it up and the mini tree isn't loaded (I had one of my catalogs in it). What am I doing wrong?

Vista Home Premium 2008 x64--I had to reinstall the original OS then Service Pack 2 & about 100 updates. Then I had to re-install it all over again. I've been working on getting my system back almost non-stop for 6 days & still have problems I can't figure out. I have a number of programs I still want to re-install, so I'm so tired I'm probably not thinking clearly about XY. And I don't want to have to set up my toolbar & mini tree again.

TIA for any help.

The toolbar data are in the INI file (usually called XYplorer.ini). Are you sure that you picked the right INI file?

I hope you all know that those settings are not lost since XY always keeps a backup of them in <xydata>\AutoBackup\.

I cannot see why a crash would destroy a file. At what moment crashed it? When closing?
And the corrupted backup was the one in <xydata>\AutoBackup\?

no idea. one evening i finished my work ordinary and all was fine, the other day XY started with like "fresh" settings. at first i couldn't understand/believe what happened, so made few start/close, till i understood only separate files are safe. probably that's when backup saved new "corrupted" version over good one.

Weird. If this ever happens again please make a copy of the corrupt XYplorer.ini before you overwrite it. Then send it to me. It might help me to find out what happened.
