Trying to add track # Column for Music Files

Brand new here and a newbie XYplorer. Man this looks so much better than it looked years ago. But....I can't seem to find a column for track numbers for my music folders. There is a "Line Numbers" but I'm looking for track numbers, as songs will not file in correct order. I'm hoping I'm missing something real simple, as this is critical for me, and I absolutely love this
Thank You

Well, no at this very time, but maybe tonight or tomorrow night
Don has been silent during the last days because he is coding this right now.

No really is this a politically correct answer. Today or tomorrow? This file manager has gone through such an extensive face lift, since I tried it years ago. So far every single improvement makes perfect sense. I was thinking that XYplorer was going to be my go to Manager. Above Directory Opus, Speed Commander, xplorer2. It's hard for me (and somewhat sad) trying to understand these killer changes, yet being void of a track number column. I do understand that having 300 or so to choose from, but a track column is right up there (and maybe above) file extension.
So really today or tomorrow, or is this a kind brush off Thank You

I'm not kidding! The next beta should be released pretty soon. Let's see if Don shows up here...

I think it was a bit of a attempt at humor because with Don, we never know when to expect that some things may appear...and since he's actively working (we believe) on things related to this, it may be possible that it'll be soon.

It all depends on user situation and type of files that they have as to what is important...I have almost no music on my system so track nbr is of little use here...plus I can't understand who might think track nbr is more critical than the type of file, but that's my opinion.

Well said. I suppose you are right. If you have no music files than track number means nothing. regarding extensions, it's usually very easy for me to tell what a file is. Again almost everything I work with is music files) If I need to identify an extension, right click can solve this. Can't right click proper placement of music files without track numbers. But just as you said, it depends what your use of XYplorer is for.

BTW, I forgot to say my usual : Hi and welcome to the XY forums!
And as a new user here, I think the way Marco replied to you wasn't as ideal as it could have been since you likely wouldn't have understood the background behind it.

And the value that relates to both music and video that may be more useful to me is the length of the media, so it'll be nice to be able to select what is seen on your own setup.
Now have you enabled the File Info Tips? So that when you hover a file name, you see the track nbr that way (at least it does on my ole sys)..

I don't understand what's wrong with my replies.
Isn't Don coding exactly this right in these days? And since betas are released almost daily and the last build was released last Wednesday, a new beta is forthcoming.
By the way, in the thread I linked in the second post Don is asking for possible names for these new features - I assume the bigger part, ie coding, is already mostly completed.

As someone who tries to greet new users here when I can, and respond by presuming they have not read any threads here and/or have no clue as to what is normal here, I found your replies just a bit more appropriate for someone who wasn't a newbie here...that's all...they were factually correct but possibly a bit too curt/short for new user...ok?

Agree that is all true...but would a new user know or be aware of those things? Or even by reading other threads, get the answer desired? I usually presume not...and as I said above, I try to adjust my style of reply to match the experience/history of the poster and view it from their perspective (if I can)...and thus, I felt one of your replies was a tad flippant and it was seen as such by OP so I've tried to make sure OP isn't upset at us here...no big deal.

I respect full of your acknowledgment . Reading several other forums, and the high energy here for support of this product, and the developers support for his users, It was obvious Marco you were supporting the product as well. For future reference, I will explain my take on your answers. After the question of track numbers was posted, I specifically asked if I there were a tab for track numbers, You then supplied a link with no explanation, or a specific answer. I read through the link, which was basically the developer asking for suggestions, and his comments of the 300 + tabs that would have no information
I had to "assume" that this tab that a was asking for was not available. Which then lead to my semi sarcastic answer, " I gather that the number tag is not available
You had come back with check back tonight or tomorrow. My first reaction was Yes!! this is all I need, and XYplorer would then be my go to File manager. Seconds later, i felt I was being massaged, in a political manner. I came within seconds of dumping this product. This then lead to my whinny comment of I can't believe that this doesn't have a numbers tag for music files (My Bad)
My criticism is done with absolutely no intent to upset you. I just want to remind you that you Are a representative of XYplorer, and for the truly newbie I would suggest your comments be more helpful and direct

Thanks jc I do like this file info tip suggestion. I was unaware, but this gives me a chance to explain a little deeper as to why this file tab will be of help once it's created.
The problem isn't that I can't identify the track numbers fast enough, but it comes from the actual filing
If I have a classical piece with 5 movements, at this time XYplorer will file these pieces out of order, do to the lack of the numbers ID tag, as it will file either by name or dates. When I slide these 5 movements over to my player it will then play the movements out of order. Not the best way to listen to classical masterpieces. There are ways around this, but it creates extra steps, and, it defeats the purpose that I'm creating, using the speed and efficiency of file managers.
I absolutely love this product, and was/am amazed of the drastic improvements and changes this went through within a few years. I Look forward to the updates, and at this time, I will simply use something else, when dealing specifically with music files.

Hi,
Track number columns will come, but that will be a part of the new Custom Columns. I'm currently working on Extra Tags. Custom Columns will come afterwards.
