Win 8.1 has built in RAW support. How do I make XY use that?

Hi,

the Win 8.1 Explorer can generate thumbnails for *.NEF files (and probably other RAW formats) without installing any additional programs.

But in XYplorer only the file type icon is displayed. Somehow, XY does not take advantage of this built-in support.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to change the config somehow?

Have you ticked Configuration | Thumbnails | Enable shell thumbnails?

Yes that option is enabled and works for other file formats, such as JPG. But not for NEF.

I assume this is a feature of all 8.x versions, but I have never used 8.0, so I cannot be sure.

Same behavior: F11 works for JPG, but not for NEF.
