I'd like to change the Rename Special command "Spaces to _" underscores
into "Spaces to -" hyphens

Can I do this somehow in XYplorer.ini ?

or some other way ?

I'd suggest a small script. Hope some scriptor reads this...

Go to User | Manage Commands..., go to Rename section, Click New | Add New Command and input as in the screenshot below:

If you don't have it in the menu you're using the free version (user defined commands are not available in that version)?

It's not in the home edition.

Is there any other way to change the rename special from using underscores to hyphens? I am a web designer and hyphens are preferred. I would like to have both options in this menu.

Can this be done if I upgrade to the Pro version? Having both options that is?

I am using a paid version, just it's called home for some reason. Now all I see is Pro version or free.

You can't change the menu items in the "rename special" menu. So if you really need the "direct" way (just do it, do not ask questions, don't let me type anything in) you need a pro version (if "home" doesn't support scripting)...

The home edition is not offered anymore. But you can upgrade from Home to Standard or to Lifetime with 20% discount:
