Windows auto start & netword drives

Hi,

How do we tell xyplorer to auto launch when windows start ?

About network drives not connected at startup, i click on them and normally, i should be asked for credentials but xyplorer can't do a thing apaprently. It works only if previously i use windows explorer that ask for these credentials and then i can fullfill them so the netword drive is mounted and as a result xyplorer can access it. How to tell xyplorer to ask for these credentials as well ?

Hi and welcome to XY forums!

On XP, you simply add XY to your StartUp folder via shortcut...presume it's similar on newer OS's.

There's been other topics about the credentials, I'm quite sure...suggest doing a search using tha keyword, maybe?

Thanks j_c_hallgren.
Yes, i thought about "startup'". I just asked because i thought there was an option in xyplorer i didn't find.

I start a new search based on "network drives" keywords. The second page of search result gives this http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... ive#p91146

I need xy to start with administrator rights so i the shortcut start with them.
I put this shortcut to "startup" but it does start at windows startup.

I suggest to have this startup option into xy

The Autostart folder isn't the correct place to start applications with elevated privileges.

Create a task instead.

Thanks you highend.
Does anyone know how to create a task for such a goal ?

If you use Windows 7: right click the .exe > Properties > Compatibility > Tick "Run this program as as administrator"
Then place the shortcut in statup folder

Does it help if you untick this?
Configuration | Controls and More | Miscellaneous | Assume that servers are available

Are you using MiniTree?

From BETA thread:
admin wrote:

Code: Select all

v7.90.0151 - 2009-04-30 20:43
+ Added tweak to skip an extra check for existence/availability
before browsing to a folder. Set TreeSkipVerifyOnSelect to 1 to
skip the check. It will slightly speed up general browsing, and it
will make certain folders (e.g. SYSVOL shares) browsable at all.
        [General]
        TreeSkipVerifyOnSelect=1
      Default is 0.
      Notes:
      - You will get no logon dialogs for password protected
        folders when TreeSkipVerifyOnSelect=1.
      - With the Mini Tree the check is skipped anyway by default.
Unless you use another tweak and set MiniTreeVerifyOnSelect=1.
      - This tweak overwrites the MiniTreeVerifyOnSelect tweak: if
        TreeSkipVerifyOnSelect=1 then MiniTreeVerifyOnSelect has no
        effect.

I don't use minitree yet as i don't know this feature yet, i'm just looking into it right now and it seems an interesting feature i may use in the short future.
Your quotes mention some text configuration. Where can we modify this configuration (if you advice me to do so or want me to do a specific test) ?
