In the caption of your user button would be:
ButtonTitle|:select

beside every button It shows his shortcut

The button/icon labels are only shown when you select Customize Toolbar from a user button's context menu.

Using Customize Toolbar from the Tools menu or one of the built-in buttons will not display those labels.
