Usability Mistery

This one bugs me since long, long time. After analyzing and trying to find a pattern so I could write a proper bug or whatever report, I have quit.

Here it goes: why after a long period of usage, ate least a week, or under a very specific key combination (shift + ctrl + something), XYplorer turns to misread keyboard input like if some regional setting was changed?
Pressing ";" into the address bar turns into "Ç", for instance.
Other apps are not affected.

Firefox behaves like that, sometimes, but with a veeeeeeeery rarer frequency and only with a key combo pressed.

Had (have?) the same happening in Word 2010. Sometimes looks like the keyboard layout has changed to US. Restarting Word fixes everything...

Strange, I too have experienced this a couple times in the last several months. I haven't linked it to any particular application.

Reason 1: You installed secondary keyboard layout (Control panel > Language > Keyboard & Language)
Reason 2: You turned on secondary keyboard layout (i.e: see status bar in Microsoft Word), each time you press Left Alt + Shift, it switch between language (this hot key is defined in Control panel > Language > Keyboard & Language > Change keyboard > Advanced key settings)
Reason 3: Microsoft Word auto switch language to match surrounding language (Word Option > Advance > (Editing): Auto switch)

r1: yes, I do have. But can't repro the problem at will, just because of that.
r2: same as r1.
r3: no Word installed here, so it may apply to Marco's problem, only.

I'm sure it happens on accidental press of some keys, but as stated it also seems to happen after a certain time of XYplorer being up (5 days or more).

Reason 2 seems the correct one here. It would explain the behaviour in Word (sometimes my fingers sleep on the keyboard lol), and that combo is system-wide so it switches keyboard layout in XY too (just tested).
Thanks for the diagnosis! :D

I meant: for that very session, so it doesn't explain my case as the system language hasn't changed in fact. Just inside XYplorer.
