i don't reallt know if it's a bug, but deffinitely a problem for me. i can't make a d'n'd for Photoshop 14 and EZ CD Audio Converter.

yet no drop on archives, "shell drop failed" is displayed.
maybe it's Win8 ?

when i drag files in Photoshop CS6 or EZ CD Audio Converter cursor turns into "forbidden"-round-sign and no files are droped.
and if i drop files on archives, the earlier message appears, whereas in Explorer it updates archive with files.
win8, x64.

You cannot drop on archives? You get the no-drop cursor when hovering archives?

Mmh... are you running XY and the destination application with the same privileges?

checked it, and it seems for problem 1&2 this is a reason.

never thought of it 'cause no other soft had this problem and both programs are not on system drive.
what can it be for .rar drop?

Unfortunately I can confirm the RAR problem. I also have WinRAR 64 and get "Shell drop failed". On my XP system I have WinRAR 32 and shell drop works. So is it the bitness? Not sure. XY can drop into other 64-bit programs without problems, e.g. into Explorer 64. Hm.

I too have noticed DnD problems in the last couple of months when using XY, but I'll need to keep an eye out for which specific scenarios/programs are causing them before reporting. What I do remember is that when they happened, doing the same operation to/from Windows explorer worked like a charm.
Now, I'm not 100% sure how much this is OS related as it was about that time that I moved from Win 7 x32 (disabled UAC) to to Win 8 x64 with UAC. So loads of changes at the same time!
