Is there a way to have a Drives Bar just bellow the toolbar?
Here is an example from Powerdesk Pro.

Nope, only anywhere within the toolbar.

How can I add drives icons to the regular toolbar?

Customize toolbar... scroll down the left list... you will see the drives stuff...

Excellent.
Is there a way to add a second toolbar? (Just to be sure I have fully understood the first answer).

Nope, only one toolbar at a time.
But via scripting you can quite easily manage an unlimited set of toolbars (so that you can quickly switch toolbars). Example to invoke a simple mini toolbar:
Code: Select all
toolbar("back,fore,up,refresh,-,exitnosave");

Wouldn't it be much more easier if one could add a second toolbar?

Depends. You mean you want a drives bar that can be toggled on/off independently of the main toolbar?

Yes.
Though a second toolbar can be used for more icons that do not fit in the regular one (no need to toggle).
I for one use a lot the drives icons as I have many drives and I switch between the all the time.

Believe it or not, XY follows a minimalistic design philosophy. Two toolbars are just one too much.
Tip: There is a "Computer" button that opens a dropdown featuring all drives. Kind of a vertical on-demand drive bar.

Well, that's why I dislike Chrome. The minimalistic approach.
This might be good for beginners, but for the power user who exploits various commands and features its just a burden.
The second toolbar can be used, for example, for favorites folders etc.

Well, form follows function, I'm always open for discussion. In recent years there was not much demand here for a 2nd toolbar. But I have to admit that in the same recent years I have added a LOT of useful buttons to the toolbar, so I even I myself am running out of space. So... well, anybody else?

You can add it as an option. Whoever needs it will have his answer.

Yes, please.
I run out of space on everything I do, all of the time (regulars here too have seen it on and on).
Of course I could quickly switch buttons on and off depending on the project I'm in, but it's totally a different thing when you simply forget you have an installed resource just because you can't see it at a quick glance.
BUT: if design is at discussion, I'd rather go with a second address bar specially when I see that one of the next steps is a "Clickable Droppable Per Pane Breadcrumb" (on the Roadmap), which should be taken into account. After all, we *already* have a scrollable toolbar WHICH WRAPS and has the little ">>" indicator at the right, feature whose name I forgot, sorry...
If I had the option, I'd prefer a second toolbar with a second addy bar at the middle of the screen (will try to screenshot my concept later).

Yes!
