Instant Color Filters - Black Out

Most of the default values are well thought out and useful. However,
Black Out puzzles me as to its purpose. Is it supposed to function as a type of
Boss Switch? Or is something obvious simply escaping me?

I thought it's only real purpose was to hide items when taking snapshots.
Although I suppose it's another way to filter the list and bring some clarity to your current task. *shrug*

Yes, that likely is it. As a Boss Switch it comes up short.

Now that I think about it "Redact" might have been a better term for that filter.

Comes in handy when you want to black out everything in a directory other than tagged items. One caveat however, you can highlight items in details mode when blacked out and see the filenames, on thumbs you can't. ಥ_ಥ

Yes, I noted that too. It troubled me a bit, but not enough to do something. Well, I did not even see a good solution, because: The asymmetry here is something that you'd normally welcome, only with Black Out it looks rather undesirable. But since Black Out is not that serious anyway I stopped thinking about it.
