Obviously a Win 7 bug.zer0 wrote:Just tried it to copy a few thousand files on my Win 7 32-bit and XY froze. In addition, it also caused the program (ObjectDock+) that I use as my taskbar replacement to freeze so I couldn't switch between open programs while I wait for the copy to finish. Alt+Tab stopped working also. This is really annoying and I mean really, grrr!
Just like it was a Vista SP1 bug too?admin wrote:Obviously a Win 7 bug.
Would you please be so kind as to define the meaning of "soon" in your sentence? This issue has existed for over a year, it is annoying and I hope those of us eager for it to be fixed won't be bashed for our perceived impatienceadmin wrote:Anyway, I'll update to Win 7 myself soon, so any issues will be addressed.
So you think this is not a Win 7 bug? LOL.zer0 wrote:Just like it was a Vista SP1 bug too?admin wrote:Obviously a Win 7 bug.
I am not necessarily saying that. I know what the behaviour is, but I don't know what the bug is. What I do know is that this behaviour seems to have started after installation of Vista SP1 (and is present in Win 7 RTM). This may lead to one pointing the finger of blame at Microsoft. However, other file managers that I tried did not exhibit this behaviour, which casts a shadow of doubt upon the previous allegation. Make of that what you will.admin wrote:So you think this is not a Win 7 bug? LOL.
You said "Alt+Tab stopped working also." That's an OS function that should not be breakable by even the most evil software. But maybe in your case ObjectDock+ is the culprit.zer0 wrote:I am not necessarily saying that. I know what the behaviour is, but I don't know what the bug is. Confirmed that it's the OD+ that's causing the problem with Alt+Tab. I'll take it up with its devs. However, it's the freeze in XY that starts the chain of events.admin wrote:You said "Alt+Tab stopped working also." It makes me feel a bit upset to read you brushing off this issue like that. I've experienced this issue all the way through 7.x cycle and so far up to 8.2, so please try to step into my shoes and get a taste of the frustration that I've had. You may think of this as begging, but it's simply a result of feeling desperate. I'll continue to bite the bullet...admin wrote:Conc. the topic of this thread. Please stop begging. It's on the roadmap and that's it. Begging will get you nowhere.
Probably "whining" is the correct term in English. Anyway, stop it. (Last warning)zer0 wrote:Confirmed that it's the OD+ that's causing the problem with Alt+Tab. In my head: yes. In code: not yet. Will come...kiku wrote:Pulling this topic up...
Since Windows 7 is out now, are there any developments on this issue?
Hi,wswshuhu wrote:This problem definitely needs bumping up!!!
I was seriously considering switching to XY but I immediately noticed the program hanging up when a disk operation was in place: Windows 7 64bit
1. WHEN COPYING LARGE FILE
2. WHEN CREATING THUMBNAILS (especially painful when waiting for thumbnails for my camera video files.)
1+2 = total deal breaker
I absolutely cannot do anything else except to wait for the operation to be over. Cannot change a folder, cannot move to a different tab. Nothing.
Other than that it is a STELLAR!!! program and it is the best of them all TC or Xplorer2.
Please make this a priority
