Code: Select all
+ Rename Special | Edit Item Names: Now also this function supports "Move on
Rename". Maybe not extremely useful here but, well, the option is there.

more of this!

Preview 2.0 is one of great features of the XYplorer now. Floating preview usability is much better than the preview in Windows Explorer. It is very useful for me.
Windows Explorer of some older Windows versions even has no preview.
i love the whole program

v16.10.0308 - 2016-01-14 22:11
* Menu Edit | New Items: Now when you create a non-empty folder from a
template, all three file dates of all items contained in the new folder
are set to the current date/time.
A relief, I struggled with the old behavior myself...

* Tree and List | Type Ahead Find: Now if the found item is out of view it
is auto-scrolled into top position. Before, it was auto-scrolled into
bottom position.
+ the tweak to set the topmost scroll position

Thanks for the new preview pane feature, Donald! It's a very welcome addition.

In fact, I like it much better than floating preview, which I've now stopped using.

Not sure how long I've been missing out on this but I just found and love the fact that the configuration toolbar button's right-click allows jumping directly to a particular section!

Wow, guess I had been missing that one too until you mentioned it! It's great discovering new features, especially when they're useful and not just bugs in disguise.

Maybe I should be spending more time reading that 683-page help PDF. Also, glad to see that Alt Up now navigates up one level, as it does in WinExp.

Addition of
Links is a very nice feature! Allowed two CTB's to be freed up in the first five minutes of operation.
The ability to use or not (on/off) very user friendly.

Thanks for separating color filters (tree / list). Finally I find them useful

Three thank-you's:
- The new folder sizes toggle button is just what I needed, because I was always mistakenly trying to toggle the display of folder sizes back off with the old button. I had to refresh the list, instead.
- Being able to easily view and edit the text entries in the clipboard is another very useful feature.
- As for paste and find, it works flawlessly, although at first, when testing the feature, I made the stupid mistake of copying a folder with Ctrl C, so I wound up actually pasting the entire folder and its contents to another folder.
I should have used the "Copy Path/Name" button, instead.

Never in a file manager, Don. There are lots of clipboard utilities out there (none of which I've ever used), but having one built into a file manager is a lot more convenient. I was amazed to be able to modify a passage of text in the clipboard and paste the revised version into my text editor.
Another nice thing is that the clipboard editor reverts to the original multi-line version if actual files or folders are in the clipboard. Also, in the past I was using a command line shortcut to clear the clipboard [C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "echo off | clip"], but that's no longer necessary.

In the past 8 years you could have just used copytext ""; instead xD
