It let's me double click an empty spot on any "save as", "open file", "import file" or "export file" dialogue panel in Windows and either access a folder that I have bookmarked or access the recently used folders.

This makes finding the right folder you need to be in while saving, opening, importing or exporting a file very fast and efficient. No more browsing to the same location over and over again just because windows isn't smart enough to know what folder I will need for my operation.

I think Live Filter is important only when the "match anywhere" option is on. Frankly, a brand new Live Filter is not so important, because the already existing "spot and jump" has almost the same function. It would be enough if Type ahead find started the "spot and jump" (technically: immediately jump into address bar and start writing the letters after a ">") and I can go through all occurance of the typed word easily. (Or this can be done by scripting??)

Now a bit annoying, when I would like to search something quickly, and I start to type the key word (several letters mostly). After jumping I realize, it is not the file, I want. Do again, type key word again. This is not that again. Now I realize there are a lot more occurances of this part of file name, and I should have used "spot and jump". Now I click on the address bar, then type ">" and my search word again, and find my file by pressing Enter several times. :(

Most will find the Live Filter box cooler I think. It will come anyway.

Yes, I do know it will be cooler. But the post I quoted was written several months ago and live filter is planned even more earlier. I have just suggested to live with an easy (and existing) replacement until the cool feature comes. Better a less cool but useful feature, then nothing for a long time.

Is there any way to do it for myself by scripting?

I don't think so.
