Nope, and I certainly wouldn't block Sweden.
AI has some tips if you google: all-inkl site does not work with VPN

Works with Private Internet Access and currently hooked up to Switzerland.
Just switched to Stockholm Sweden and it became very sluggish and when I tried to download the newest beta, I was met with the message "You are forbidden to use this resource", so there seems to be something off with the forum, VPN and Sweden.

Good and fast over here. It's nice having the forum up and running again.

Great Job, Fast and solid here in So California..
Plus I notice the 'WHO IS ONLINE' stats has dropped from abt 600-1200 users online to avg of abt 20 to 35 ...
Each time in the resent past I would login to the site, just a couple minutes apart, the count would vary as much as a 100-200 users ...
I'm assuming that represented the bot swarms ...

I don't want to jinx it, but it looks like ALL-INKL was a very good choice! Thanks for the tip, highend!

Too bad I did not see this discussion in the beginning as I could have warned you that Ionos has very bad support. But I would not be able to help you a lot as I know only French webhosters.
I am very happy you found a solution for your problems.
But I meet a little problem : the links in forum’s mail notifications are wrong (ex
viewtopic.php?t=28739&e=1&view=unread#unread) and need to be updated.

I changed the URL from xyfc to xyfc2 temporarily for some days (fighting bots). Now it's back to xyfc. Just remove the "2".
