Ok, now its works again as in the past

Is anyone else having .msg preview issues again as I posted here?

First .msg preview works, switch to second file and it stops working (can view but mouse doesn't click in pane). PDF preview is then also unresponsive in terms of buttons after. Word preview is still responsive.

I am having the same problem. Opening a msg file, the first works then it locks xy for any subsequent. It also locks Directory Opus. The only way to free up both apps is a system restart.
I would appreciate a simple guide to the resolutions others hove reported.
I am using windows 10 64 bit up to date with all updates and Outlook 2019. The location of msg together with relevant config data would be appreciated.

FYI, I'm using this in the meantime and it works fine okay (XY loses the focus after the preview, you need to click on it to re-focus):

Works a treat but the font a bit small. Do you have a copy of the reg file that alters the size?

Uh, don't know what you mean. I guess the answer is no.

In the url you quote, https://www.brandsict.nl/msgpreviewer_en.php, it says there a reg file in the zip. Problem no Zip.
I have E mailed brandsict.nl to see if they have a copy.
Will let you know outcome.

Is there any chance of figuring out how File Explorer handles the native Outlook msg preview & replicating in XYP, since File Explorer doesn't have the lockup issue?

The 'addon' non-native msg preview pane losing focus is a real issue esp if you want to use down and up arrow keys to go thru a lot of msg files in preview pane

It might not be impossible (but it also might), but all I know for now is that other devs have struggled too and failed. MSG, like all Office things in general, is a world of its own within Windows that often doesn't follow the rules. You can really feel the tension between the Windows and Office departments within Microsoft.

How about a way to get that Replacement (brands) previewer above to keep focus on the Xyplorer pane rather than having the focus lost? Anyway to do so?

Basically it works, the list still has the focus.
But if I use the down arrow key the cursor is put on the next file
but it its not activated and the preview pane is blanc.
Only after I click on it the preview starts.
This is a general problem which I also have for other type of previews.
What setting do I miss here ?
