Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
Another preview of Themes Preview.
Feedback is welcome. This is the last chance for us to suggest improvements as Sammay is about to deliver the final layout for this project.
There are some minor changes planned, plus a graphics redraw to include the Find Files pane's tabs so their respective colors can be previewed/adjusted either.

Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
Looking good! It's hard to comment based on the preview pic alone because I'm not completely sure of the functionality of the various features. For example, concerning the hex color codes, I guess I can first assume that the circled numbers shown on the previewed [left side] correspond to the column list on the right which has the current hex color code. I also assume we will be able to change the color code on this screen. Will we have to have a desired color hex code in the clipboard to paste it in a particular list box or will the standard Windows "Color" dialog be displayed as it does in Tools | Configuration | Color, to adjust color by either clicking on the attribute number on the left side of the preview (e.g., Grid color) or the corresponding number in the list?
At that point, it looks like we can possibly "apply" the theme changes separately or as a whole and see the results with a screen redraw (i.e., new preview generated) and when we are satisfied "continue". I'm not positive on the difference between "reload" and "apply". Is reload similar to a reset? I assume "continue" would continue on to apply the new theme changes to XY with a restart. Wow, again looking good!

The input boxes have decimal colors actually (as used in XY's inis) but might also accept hex values, and there are still no color pickers in sight...

Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
Thanks, no problem as far as not using the Windows Color dialog box. We can easily get the decimal color codes and jot them down or put them into the clipboard for use. I'm not a programmer, but I wonder though if there's a relatively simply way to call out the Windows standard Color dialog for input as Don does in Color Configuration. It's specified here as "choosecolor" http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... s.85).aspx Using AHK's Windows Spy it show as Window Title "Color" and Class "ahk_class #32770"

Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
Another little teaser...
First sshot, XYss_thm1_pre.PNG, displays a theme requiring some tweaking as it inherits some colors from a previously used theme. It has overlays enabled for easily spotting values vs corresponding areas.
The second, XYss_thm4_post_noLayer.PNG, shows the tweaked theme (yes, right on the preview window!
) with no overlays.
A "Clipboard" button was added making it easier to parse entire themes at once so the preview can deal with previously created themes which may require some adjustments. In other words, no more unreadable text due to poor contrasts with background color.
Actually I'm surprised by the accuracy HthemeL has got concerning its mission. SammaySarkar and I are working on final adjustments for the preview part, so I can integrate it into Themes Loader v2.0 and Random Themes Creator v2.0.
ETA: less than a week, I hope.
Sammay: wow.

Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
It looks like with Don's latest beta v14.40.0302, which included the capability to change the tab color regardless of whether you're using a Windows theme or Classic style, many of these Theme scripts including mine will have to be updated to recognize the new setting, "TabUseCustomColors=0/1". I haven't looked at them all in any detail, but if the setting is not added the colors for the tabs may not be saved when you save the theme.

Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
Thanks for the note, Ken.
I made a note about it and will consider it for the next release I have planned with Sammay.
*very low prio* on my side I have to say, as I'm buried under several tasks as of now, including moving to a new city.
Sammay seems to be busy either, but I leave it with him if he sees he can deal with the request despite this being my part of the code.
I made a (heavy) revision back then allowing flexibility for future changes but can't recall whether or not all the necessary steps were documented for him ("us", as it was a tad complicated).

Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
Hi SkyFrontier, certainly no rush, I just wanted to point it out. Good luck with the move and I hope it's not too stressful. My last move happened after I retired and that was stressful enough.
Re: XYstylEZ - Visual Themes for your XYplorer, made easy
I'd gladly take up the offer, but besides being a bit busy (though not as much as SF), I'm not very familiar with the massive code. So later.SkyFrontier wrote:Sammay seems to be busy either, but I leave it with him if he sees he can deal with the request despite this being my part of the code.

Apart from that, I'd not try any adjustments just yet, considering the rapid changes Don's making with display options and related tweaks.
