New version of XYplorer (64-bit) compiled with twinBASIC BETA 840:

We've come a long way. Apart from the lack of mnemonic support (which will come by the end of July), I don't see any major problems. Do you?

The TB version is looking very good. I'm using it exclusively unless I'm writing over the TB exec file with a new version. The only issues I'm seeing are the slow startup speed (about 4 times the VB version) and MDBU on animated gifs. All my scripts and menus work fine.

Same. All problems that I saw were addressed.

Concerning speed: Currently, the TB compiler produces completely unoptimized code. Optimization will come later. It is expected that it will be even faster than VB then.

I'll switch over to a XYTB as the daily driver somewhere next week to see if stumble over something important, especially scripting...

Did anyone try to use e.g. the preview handler of Adobe Acrobat Reader without any other installed .pdf preview handler so far?

Sorry, but is everyone happy dealing with remote drives?

I'm not sure yet that XY has a problem or if the remote host is in trouble, but the progress bar doesn't seem to moveand status doesn't seem to update (except in window caption) during copy.

I'm seeing the same with XYVB. I think it's a Win11 bug.

Just noticed on Win11 (not on W8.1): the toolbar flickers whenever a Hover Box comes up. Can anyone confirm this?

You are talking about the Hover Box in the list panel. If so, no flickering here on the latest Windows 11, 24H2, 26100.4484, testing numerous file types.

I'm not seeing any flicker on any Hover Box and I'm on a 6 year old desktop.

I am not active here much, I lurk occasionally. But as I use XYplorer exclusively whenever I use Windows (I switched to Linux a year ago, but have a Windows Vm for non-Linux stuff), this is great news!!! Thank you!! I just wanted to point out that there is a market in Linux for XYplorer! I'm doing a lot of creative work, and although I can handle the terminal well, visual file wrangling is still muscle memory. Linux has no file manager that could come to par with xyplorer. And there is more and more prosumer people who shift from windows especially in the creative branch - people who are skilled in working with pcs, but not in scripting and programming so they can't or wont jump into terminal right away (but we need to get the job done and file/project organization is key ).

Impatiently awaiting the first Linux version!

I'd buy a MacBook Air for travel if it ran XYplorer and I'm not the only one, for sure.
