I think adding a scripting command would be good even if it becomes a bloat. Reason: If you decide on changing some internal working - like currently duplicates are allowed and you want to disallow it, etc, the new SC can handle it.

There was a search script that used Everything *, now that can just generate a pf from the results... just beginning to see the advantages of using a simple filelist for PFs.
And yes, SCs aren't really required, I'm honestly just hoping for surprises

You'll probably keep using that paper airplane icon, so I won't mention I want to change it.

Have just begun using it - and it is brilliant. Not that I wouldn't trust XY's own search engine - but since I own a full license to FileLocatorPro anyway, this is a great way of combining portable programs into smooth teamwork.

This feature alone outsmarts all file containers that I know of. Sort, filter, compare search results that are clickable, that allow me to make decisions on the fly - passing stuff on to WinMerge for further clarification....

Thanks. It was rather useless before paper folders. But the boolean regex search capabilities of Filelocator Pro are outstanding and now I'm using it myself more and more each day

Very true. Allows me to get along nicely with my basic RegEx knowledge, and create complex queries in a rather intuitive way. No need to worry about intricate structures. I just reuse short bread & butter RegEx stock phrases that I sandwich between AND OR NOT.

How is FileLocatorPro anyway? I always been using Everything and it does everything I need but there are times I do need to search content and Everything definitely does not do that. Although since I don't often search for content, perhaps Agent Ransack is good enough?

um, sorry, It appears I talked while dreaming. The fact is I'd tried converting that script to work with Everything, in my early early days of XYaddiction, and I remembered it for just that (maybe I toiled too hard and got a lasting impression). Actually I didn't get any working results. Sorry again for the misleading post.

Ah no problem at all. I'm pretty satisfied with having a keyboard shortcut to automatically open up Everything.

On selection in list...
either right-click > Remove selected items ...
or click the paper folder button (toolbar) > Remove selected items .....

To have both possibilities would be the best, I would say.

Naturally when you copy or move something to a paper folder, you know you're not actually copying or moving the physical file to it. Therefore assigning the Delete key to the paper folder as removing the item from the paper folder seems more intuitive than actually deleting the file.

In terms of what the buttons do for the context menus, it's fine. Context menu Delete physically deletes and the other option removes it from the paper folder.
