Well, in my browser it is the 2nd answer. Weird.
Anyway, there are more hacks here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums ... bit-system and probably all over the net. Or use OpenOffice and you have no problems.
Man, this is totally embarassing for MS. The whole 32/64 bit thing should not even be notable to the end user. What a mess!

Thx for taking care, Don.
I have read through these links weeks ago. None of these "hacks" (the ones I felt safe enough to try) seem to work with me.
The answer that I think is the only solution, is also mentioned on the very page linked to last by you:
It says: "2. Create a 64bit executable and from a 32bit process post messages using WM_COPYDATA."
As far as I understand it, you, Don, need to make a 64 bit seperate little exe (helper app) that will use the iFilters and that hands the results over to XY main. Thats just my understanding though. Any other solution that works is also welcome of course.
Regards, Stephan

Yes, that would be an option.

! Find Files | Contents: Error with certain DOC files. Fixed.
I am not sure if this is/was a try to solve the issue with the 64 bit iFilters.
If so, then it did not work regarding my testing.

No, it was something else.
