Only thing that XY Custom Copy can't do so far is pausing a file transfer - I mean, literally pausing during the transfer of a file and being able to resume from that point, without reprocessing the whole file. Teracopy can do that, I don't know about Fastcopy.

FastCopy can pause it too. Actually I don't remember seeing any alternative copier that cannot literally pause except for XYCopy partially. Also it always "confused" me a little bit when I pause XYCopy because it would pop up an extra dialog and then "pause" the transfer. Perhaps there should be two buttons instead; "Pause Background Processing" and "Pause Transfer"?

What is really cool with Fastcopy and Teracopy, is the playing of sound when copy finished.
Why did never one else thought abuot that ?
This is so basic and a need to have some sound at the end of long operations.

( Well, a sound at a file recovery question would be a need too )

Teracopy is beatiful with the grafic displaying, but does'nt display much info ( bite rate )

Fastcopy is the most spped copier, and is said to be very reliable.

But o graphicdisplay and a bg dialog text gui. We have to like that... but it's fast copying is attractive !

near 20 / 30 years after the beginig of the micro computing at home,
windows good displaying and managing for file exploration, copying and so on is a very big project in progress....

Code: Select all

v9.50.0112 - 2010-09-30 12:03
    + Tweak to define a sound to be played after the completion of each
      background job *if* the job was at least of a configurable duration.
        BJSoundJobDone=<full or portable path to a WAV file>
        BJSoundJobDuration=<number of seconds>
      BJSoundJobDuration defines the number of seconds a job has to take
      at least in order to trigger the sound defined in BJSoundJobDone.
      For example:
        BJSoundJobDone="bum.wav"
        BJSoundJobDuration=66
      Now each background file operation that takes at least 66 seconds
      would trigger playing "<xypath>\bum.wav" on completion.
