Steps to Debug in v12.90.0012

1. Enable debugging by entering this script via address bar:

Code: Select all

debuglogtofile 16;
2. Drag a file until crash.

3. Restart XY ( ) and go to app data path and look for a newly created file called "XYLog-2013-09-20.txt".

4. Open that file and post contents here.

My "XYLog-2013-09-20.txt" file (no crash) looks like this:

Code: Select all

09:16:48.555 - may:
09:16:48.555 - job:
09:16:48.555 - mode:
09:16:48.565 - idl:
09:16:48.565 - data:
09:16:48.565 - eff:
09:16:48.565 - enter:
09:16:48.565 - def:
09:16:48.565 - feed:
09:16:48.565 - idx>3:
09:16:48.565 - cur>3:
...
09:16:48.565 - feed:
09:16:48.575 - idx>3:
09:16:48.575 - cur>3:
...
etc etc
The question is: Where does your file stop???

Looks good, we are coming closer.

Please download again now (it's now v12.90.0014) and try where it stops now.

OK, now I got the exact line of the crash. Only: I don't understand why it crashes!

Just to exclude anything totally weird, I recompiled 12.90.0000 to counter-check. If this now crashes as well, we are screwed. Download here: XYplorer-12.90test.zip

Admin,

To your "Download here: XYplorer-12.90test.zip" when I try to download I get a (404) File Not Found. Is there an alternate download address perhaps?

Bill

[edit] checks crossed in the mail. I just got it.

Admin,

Just tried your test and it still crashes. Any other ideas?
I see on V12.90.0004:

v12.90.0004 - 2013-09-14 14:46
+ Configuration | Thumbnails: Option "On right mouse down" can now
be modified by two further options:

It seems that this problem occurs for me "on right mouse down", and the problem appeared on that version. Could you try a test version without only that feature and see if that's the culprit?

This is EVIL I TELL YOU!!

It still crashes. I even tested with your original 12.90.0000 and that did not crash but the recompiled version did!
What is going on?!

For kicks, can you try a recompile of 12.90.0001?

WOW, I never thought to mention that. I've been running your official version 12.90.0000 ever since this problem arose, but yes...your recompiled version OF THE SAME FILE crashed!! Have you recently updated your compiler?
