I don't know what's different with how you're trying this, but I have the same problem. And it's not intermittent - it happens every time.

I tried it again in all possible ways using WinRAR (3.00). Again, it works perfectly. :|

if possible, try with a later version, like 3.80.

OK, I tried it with 3.80, every possible combination. Indeed I found a way to right-drag (using Shell drag'n'drop menu) an archive with folders onto a non-current tree node in MiniTree and the created folders did not show up. I fixed that. Now from my POV it's 100% perfect.

Sorry, but the problem is still there. Not only with WinRAR, but also with WinZip as well (I'm using 12.0.8252). Whenever an archive which contains subfolders is extracted to a folder, the tree does not reflect the new subfolders. Not even when you go to the destination parent directory itself - they appear in the List pane, but not on the Tree until you manually refresh the tree.

I'm boggled as to why you are not able to reproduce this.

Don, thanks for adding the ability to copy pane settings from one pane to another. It's great! :)

I guess it depends on the OS. The Windows notification system is known to be full of surprises... You can try the following; type ::logchange; into the address bar and press ENTER. Now you get a message box whenever a file system change is reported. So, do you get any message boxes after unzipping...?

Yes, here is the message when using WinZip:

---------------------------------------

Change Detected [2]: 31 (1F)
Exit1: path not listed in Pane 1

---------------------------------------

I also tried it with WinRAR:

---------------------------------------

Change Detected [2]: 23 (17)
Exit1: path not listed in Pane 1

---------------------------------------

Same here - the problem is still there. Using XY build 412.

Glad to help! I know how frustrating it is not to be able to duplicate a bug. If you need me to test anything else, just holler. :)

here's a feature request: global default tabs (i.e. a default tab shared by both panes).
or at least a way (preferably a mouse trick) to force a folder to open in the inactive pane.

also, add "Copy List Settings from Other Pane" to the context menu of the DP toolbar button.

+ Tree: Alt+Click will open the folder in the inactive pane.
Shift+Alt+Click will open it in a new tab in the inactive pane.
focus doesn't shift to the inactive pane when using this.
in fact, it looks like both panes are focused. :?

The second sentence describes a bug. (just fixed it, thanks!)
The first sentence describes a feature, resp. normal behavior: you cannot click the tree an have the focus shift somewhere else.

Don, any chance the Type 31 message dealing with the Tree refresh issue has anything to do with the Type 31 message we are seeing with the 2 pane internal refresh issue?

I'm just curious.
