Hi,

I read this: The most commonly used date format in Japan is "year month day (weekday)", with the Japanese characters meaning "year", "month" and "day" inserted after the numerals. Example: 2023年12月31日 (日) for "Sunday 31 December 2023".

Does File Explorer support this format?
Does XYplorer support this format? (if system or date locale is set to Japanese)
If not, would it be interesting to Japanese users?

In the Japanese version of Windows, the default "short date" is "yyyy/MM/dd" and the "long date" is "yyyy年M月d日". Explorer uses the short date, and since XYplorer supports both, yes it supports it. If you want to provide more options, why not allow specifying the format string (and locale) directly, as is possible in the "Language and region" system settings?

1) So the (日) weekday information is missing in File Explorer? I thought that might be the most interesting part for Japanese users?

2) Yes, it's an idea. But it requires the user to learn a pretty complicated syntax. I'd prefer a one-click solution.

By default yes, but one can always customize the date in the system settings.

I don't find it that complicated because the relevant settings are comboboxes and come with presets. Maybe you can fetch and show them?

Ah yes, dddd = day of week.

I'm just trying to get a little more response from the Japanese market. I tried to find a reseller but to no avail.
