! Backgrounded Progress Dialog: Was not reliably seen in the

the dialog is now controlled by Windows. Not a bad thing since now
it's more out of the way.
Well, Custom Copy in v9.90.1108 is a big step backwards. For me the progress dialog now pops up on a different monitor to where I run XYplorer, getting in the way of whatever I'm doing there. So for now I've had to disable Custom Copy.
OK, this is solvable.

Can you confirm that the taskbar issue is solved?

I haven't been following the taskbar discussion very closely, but I don't see any progress status for the copying operation on the taskbar button/icon. That is, if you mean, do I see a green bar progressing as the copying operation takes place. For me, XYcopy on the taskbar simply has a normal application icon while it's active with no green anything.
It's just about seeing anything of the progress dialog in the taskbar. Under XP you now see a caption (e.g. "Custom Copy") and increasing numerical percentage.

Green bar stuff comes later...

It is, the progress window is visible in the task bar.

the dialog is now controlled by Windows
It doesn't remember it's last position (when you moved it while the copying was in progress). Even if you don't move it it appears in the upper left part of the screen and with the next copy it appears about 20 pixel more to the right side. It "wanders" from it's first position slowly to the right side of the screen.

Annotation: Dual monitor setup. Don't know if this is somehow related to what I'm seeing here.

They should remember their position. Simply drag them where you want them.

PS: 'Reports' dialogs -- yes that was a bug. Fix comes. What i said only holds for the 'Name Collision' dialogs.

Some Custom Copy impressions.

I am at the "Name Collision"-Dialog:

1) i think an [Pause] button would be nifty in "Name Collision"-Dialog too.
Because if i be asked to overwrite for a few files in a row, i have no change to click at [Pause] on the main CC -Dialog.

2) For "[X] Do this also for the next collisions" + [Skip]

In the past i had very often the need to say smtg like
"[X] Do this also, BUT for the current folder only, then ask again" + [Skip]

and i see even the use of: "[X] incl. sub-folders too"

Because often i copy a lot of folders, where i want to skip some folders, but not all.

I think about smtg like this:
Action: [ xxx | xxx | xxx]
Impact: [Current item only | Current folder | Current incl. sub-folders] [OK] [Skip] [Cancel]

3.) about wording, ...i just report my impression:

If "Name Collision"-Dialog is canceled

the CC main dialog says "Custom Copy Partially Completed"

I think "Completed" is not the right word here, even it calls "Partially Completed"

because it could be misinterpreted while one is at heavy work and only see "Completed" and clicking at [OK]

4.)
if i have enabled:

"Configuration > File Op > CC Options > Config..." [X] Create log file"

i be asked every time where to save the log file.

Q:
is there planed to improve that to smtg like:
Create log file in: [ Prompt always for path | <xydata>\logs | %tmp% | Source folder | Target folder]

As others have asked there >> Can XYP do this...copy only what I want

Me too like that wish.

Smtg like:
"Configuration > File Op > CC Options > Config... > [X] Show CC Dialog at start"

Where we are prompted at start of copy/move/backup to configure a few settings like:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Target: [ default to other pane |V] [Browse...]
Filter: [ *.doc; *.pdf; ! *.bak |V]

[Set Custom Copy parameters] [Set Collisions parameters]
[X] add to background queue

[COPY] [MOVE] [BACKUP] [Cancel]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For "Custom Copy" > "Name Collision"-Dialog

i like to discus about more ACTIONs:

[Compare (call my arranged comparing tool)]
[Load script (hey, we are on XYplorer!)]
[Prompt for, or even maybe an build-in box to enter an script on the fly]

As script i want f.ex. to open the two files in question with an other tool, like each file in notepad,

Even one default "CC.xys" script to execute, which can opt as menu then, would be helpful.

- - -
BTW, an praise:
"Name Collision"-Dialog shows even (smaller) and (older), well done! Just an lob.
Also that the CC dialogs are non-modal is very nifty! So i can check in XY why there is an collision.
