I cannot repro it. Which pane is "flexible" in your setup, A, B, or both?Gandolf wrote:Yes, I've got the jumping effect now - moving the left side of the window, right side does not seem to have an effect.
Just switched from vertical split - split just right of centre to horizontal split. Split is now at the very top and doesn't show even one line in the list. Window size is 570 x 630, split position doesn't matter. Increased the window width and the splitter suddenly jumps to near mid position.
This appears to be completely reproducible even with different window sizes. And I've just got the splitter to move to the incorrect position by changing the window size.

Re: Dual Pane Bugs
1. Normal, has always (also in single pane) been like that. What else should happen? You simply cannot fit any number of tabs in any small space.j_c_hallgren wrote:I have Search Results tab, plus two normal tabs in left pane...when I move pane splitter all to the max leftmost, only the leftmost two tabs remain visible, and the others are hidden...is this intended?
Addendum:
Was there a change in the minimum size of list/max size of IP? Because I can't get the IP to be as big (and detail as small) as I need to now...I am used to having only two lines of detail showing but now the min I can get is about 5.5...is this due to the space needed for horizontal panes? If so, then when in vertical mode, it should be a different value.
Addendum 2:When scrunching screen horizontally with DP active, the DP split keeps jumping around left-right just a bit and isn't really stationary as I would think it would be.
2. Yes, I will probably change the algorithm.
3. Maybe you (and Gandolf) mean the effect when the top menu wraps around? This is not under my control, but general Windows behavior.

1024 x 768, centred on the screen.
Split vertical - 50:50.
Both panes flexible.
Only toolbar displayed (and obviously, two panes).
Four tabs in left pane, one in right.
Switch to horizontal split - split is now at the top of the display showing one line of list.
Centre the split vertically (double click) and now back to horizontal - O.K. but split again moves to the very top on next vertical selection.
I realise that the split position is remembered for horizontal and vertical and it looks as if, somehow, this is getting lost and the position is moving to the minimum (top) position. I can't make the vertical split reset to the minimum (left).
I think the problem might be related to processor power. I just finished rendering some large 3D images which, obviously, have processor priority. XY is now getting some processor time and the problem has gone away. Going on line and sending those images and XY is "playing up" again although not so badly (processor sharing is different).
I've noticed "odd" effects before when there has been heavy processor usage, as if XY doesn't like having to share resources.
Even a dual 4GHz looks as if it can't cope. If I get a chance in the studio I'll check in the quad processor machine and see if it is less / not at all.

Re: Dual Pane Bugs
While I agree that you can't fit all the tabs into a small space, what made me wonder was why two tabs were left visible (iconized)? Why not one tab or three or pick-a-nbr? Just more of a "Huh?" I guess...admin wrote:1. Normal, has always (also in single pane) been like that. What else should happen? You simply cannot fit any number of tabs in any small space.
Thanks! I can see why you'd have to w/horiz panes but not vertical.2. Yes, I will probably change the algorithm.
Not the menu, which I didn't refer to, but the DP splitter...when I drag the left side of XY window to the right, the DP split kinda jumps back/forth left/right about maybe the distance of a scroll bar or less, like it can't make up it's mind where to be...the tree/list split moves evenly and smoothly.3. Maybe you (and Gandolf) mean the effect when the top menu wraps around? This is not under my control, but general Windows behavior.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Could it be that you use another than 96dpi screen resolution? (use scripting command ::info; to easily find out...)j_c_hallgren wrote:Not the menu, which I didn't refer to, but the DP splitter...when I drag the left side of XY window to the right, the DP split kinda jumps back/forth left/right about maybe the distance of a scroll bar or less, like it can't make up it's mind where to be...the tree/list split moves evenly and smoothly.3. Ok, did that...it's 96dpi so that's not it...admin wrote:Could it be that you use another than 96dpi screen resolution? (use scripting command ::info; to easily find out...)

Address bar and title no longer change to show the active pane's location.
