Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
"no definite way to repro it..." then it might be a race condition. Unfortunately I have not seen it myself. I use the same locked tabs for many years and it never happened here.

Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
I too have settled on 5 locked tabs...and from time I notice that the location of the 2nd (the most frequently used - which I intentionally use to navigate into its subfolders) has changed - it's in one of the subfolders then, not the original one. But I have no clue on the details...

Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
I have this bug to the point where it's turning me of Xyplorer but unfortunately no other options offer what I like that Xyplorer provides. . It happens 20-30 times per day and I don't exactly know why it occurs or how to replicate it. I keep having to revert to saved tabs. It's driving me insane
Any updates would be very, very, very much appreciated.

Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
HI All,
I just noticed a little problem with tab headers and I thought that it might be related to this. If not I apologise.
I set a tab's home and then set "Lock Home Zone" on the same tab. Then I set an icon for the tab (right-click->Rename Tab). After this, if I navigate to a subfolder by double-clicking on the subfolder the tab header does not change to reflect the folder change.
If I remove the icon, and navigate to the same subfolder the tab header does update to reflect the folder change.
Initial state: Change to the subfolder (double click the folder name) and the tab header is updated
:
After setting the tab name with an icon (tab name is: "|D:\Users\John\Documents\settings\XYplorer\Icons\Downloads folder.ico"):
Change to the subfolder (double click the folder name) and tab header is not updated
:
Update: switching to the other pane causes the tab header to be updated correctly.
Cheers

Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
Don, maybe you could add some more logging to the code that creates a new tab...? I don't think I ever did something "special" or extraordinary when I ended up with unwanted tabs - it's just regular navigation in a situation where some tabs are locked...

Let me know when you find out how to replicate it.QuadJesus wrote: ↑16 Jul 2021 21:16 I have this bug to the point where it's turning me of Xyplorer but unfortunately no other options offer what I like that Xyplorer provides. . Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
Good news: I probably fixed the original problem. It was a race condition. If you changed the location of a locked tab while creating thumbnails or calculating folder sizes, the location of the locked tab may actually have been overwritten by the new location. Fixed now.

Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
Sounds good - though I don't think that changing positions of locked tabs was involved in my case. (I have 5 locked tabs and never re-order them).
But maybe I was affected anyway - will keep my eyes open

Re: Lock tabs sometimes fail
Sorry, I meant "location". I'll correct it in the original post.
