Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Anybody with WinXP+WMP11 that can make the files crash?? In that case I would install WMP11 and try to fix it.

Hm. I have XP + WMP9 and I can play them in WMP and in XY without any problem. That's devolution...Jeff Bellune wrote:WinXP+WMP11
I cannot get the files to crash XY. However, I cannot preview them in XY. I get a "Cannot Decode" message.
Other mp3 files preview OK in XY.
These mp3 files play OK in WMP11, QuickTime Pro, and Adobe Bridge CS3

I just got back from my vacation so I've just barely tested Xyplorer with the MP3's posted earlier in this thread, but it would seem that this is the same thing as my original post mentions seeing as I can get it working in the exact same way as I outlined [in my original post].
It's not the decoder that causes the problem, but rather the source filter...and as far as I can tell, it only happens with Vista.

Another discovery. I have K-lite codec pack and Vista installed. I was taking care of mp3 tags of my music library. In case you don't know, with the latest version of tag, you can now put the album cover image data on mp3 date themselves. You don't want to do this if you still want to preview those mp3 files with XY. 50% chance of un-preview-ability
Again, those files can be played on WMP or other applications that uses the WMP component. (e.g. XnView) But obviously, putting on images seems to significantly change the data structure. With some files, tag ver.1 data were wiped out and became inaccessible

Re: [Bug] a few thumbnail issues + Vista audio preview
I've noticed the same thing where certain embedded art just makes the preview hang or act weird in XY. I’ve been using https://editmp3tags.com/ lately to clean up some of my older library tags before moving them into my main folders. It’s pretty handy because it's web-based and doesn't mess with the file structure as much as some of the heavier taggers do. Might be worth a shot for anyone else seeing these preview glitches!
