great news about finally CEA development, hope more actions to appear! :appl:
BTW, this setting can completely go away now, right?
Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Mouse | Double-click on empty space goes up
just part of memories, but long ago i started to use XY exactly due to this feature and that it was On by default =i easily could skip XY while checking many file browsers, but this feature really caught me up back then.

Ha, I like those stories. Could make a nice page: "Which feature was it initially that made you stay?"

Let's see how many I squeeze into that page...

Strange. The load of Configuration window became a lot slower. I have to wait 5 seconds after clicking on the menu item. Just FYI.

Sounds like the main config window appearing after selecting Tools / Configuration... or F9 or #600

Yep, Windows with capital W.

Anyway, in the meantime I had a better idea for the interface. Everything will be different in the next beta...

Nevermind. Coincidence. Earlier XY versions also have this strange behaviour now. 5 seconds waiting after clicking on Tools/Configuration. :veryconfused:

Let me know if you find the reason.

But it was good that it happened because it inspired me to a new interface ... you will see it probably tomorrow...

admin wrote: 01 Dec 2020 20:55 And instead of "Default" the first entry in the "On dbl-click on empty in folder tree/file list" combo should be "Nothing".
In case you hadn't already noticed, with this set to nothing as the new default, it still functions as if that "old" setting was enabled.

Thinking about it, Custom Event Actions is not a good name for it. It makes sense from the POV of the program/programmer, but for the user a double-click is not an event, but an action, and "Go up" is an event! We need a new name! Now "Custom Action Events" sounds weird. What about "User-Defined Reactions" (UDR)?

Though Reaction is semantically more correct, in the end all commands or actions are triggered by something and therefore share the same super category reaction.

UDC is already reserved for a set of operations triggered from a clearly defined menu section.
Hence, I would call it User Defined Action, because UDAs will be reserved for a set of operations configured in clearly defined configuration section.
