Wish: Flatten Folder

(A modifier for obfuscate command would have been useful. Obfuscate everything but list. I could have recorded a bigger part of the screen.)

It cannot be undone, but I undid it.

(Easiest solution to change the warning: "This action cannot be fully undone, empty folders will disappear.")

Would it be possible to change or have the option when there is a name collision to have the folder name be a suffix as opposed to being the prefix? For some reason, that just makes more sense to me.

You're probably the only one. What if there are deeper nestings... I think prefix somehow looks more natural:

Well, the point is: I don't see this problem here. All is perfectly undone and redone.

For me, I'm used to seeing files with the same/similar name all grouped together. If there are a lot of files, I would think it would be more difficult once everything is flattened, as everything would be more scattered in the listing if it is done by prefix. But either way, that is going to be a great added SC.

Indeed. Tried on 2 different computers, even with fresh. The same factor was the Win7x64.

What exactly goes wrong the Undo/Redo? You say "empty folders will disappear", but that is what they should do on Redo. On Undo they should be created again before the files are moved back into them.

If a subfolder was empty when the folder is flattened, undo cannot create that folder again (only the folders in which there were files). That's why I say, undo is just partial.

(in my example above, the folder named "2" has gone, because there were no files in it)

And maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I wanted to say that the "The action cannot be undone" message is weird, because you CAN undone flattening by the undo button.

Still one inconsistency here, though very minor. If I flatten a folder which has only empty folders, nothing happens. The empty folders are not removed. In contrast, they are removed if other folders exist and have files.

I think to be technically correct and complete, empty folders should be removed even if they are the only items in the folder being flattened.
