For the sake of consistency, and to cater to ingrained habits - could the open with ... come on top like elsewhere? Don't know how important it is to still have Prev/Next on top. Seems like mouse clickers would much rather use the new clickable hotspots.
Apropos, those clickable areas require quite some mouse maneuvering, especially in folders with many different pic sizes. This is much easier in other viewers where you can keep your eye on the image itself, holding the mouse steady all the time and just click click click....

1. Well, I think it is where it belongs. FP is a viewer first of all. If you need Open With so often use the keyboard.
2. Place your mouse in a corner: it will be free to click with most formats. Making the preview itself clickable would interfere with MDBU.

Using the keyboard spoils the whole idea of this new feauture. Then I can just use the keyboard for advancing pics as before, why would I constantly switch back and forth between and mouse and keyboard? The big advantage is to sit back and get an impression from a little distance. Then right-clicking and deciding what to do with it via Open with...

Cannot confirm. This only applies to "Fit All". With all other settings there is no corner you can steer to, unless you activate the status bar, which will bring up the mouse-over all the time - very disturbing - and once again require you to move the mouse to get the right context menu. Couldn't you divide the area by 3 - middle for MDBU, L and R for navigation?

-FP could display plain text, user-provided list of extensions just like irfanview does. (irfanview does!, accidentally discovered... long time wish)
-If an image is zoomed, navigation keys cease to work. They shouldn't...

yeah, that's can be pretty unintuitive. Let arrow keys always navigate, and shift+arrow moves around.

page up/down and [shift+]space are for navigation.

Right, but arrow keys can also navigate themselves, except when the image is zoomed.

Well, I admit I personally fall intro this trap as well from time to time. And hate it when it happens. Shall I turn it off?

I for one wouldn't mind.

I for two don't even understand why it behaves that way. What possible benefit could justify it?
