Some scripts don't fit well in their current category, I know.

But e.g. Contextual Help is neither a tutorial, nor a how-to it enhances the output of some dialogs. It's still questionable if it belongs to "Visual appearance" or if a new (and better) category is necessary to reflect it's purpose. The same goes for a few entries in "Under the Hood" (I was too lazy to create another category named "Uncategorized").

What I won't do: put scripts in multiple categories. A nightmare (Don would say: can of worms) to maintain

If you want to see a script moved to a different existing (or a completely) new category, this is the place to argue about.

I know. And I disagree. Been a happy user of this script, right from the start. No way I could have coped with the syntax of Selection Filter without this "How-To" addition, until something even better came around: Your Better File/Folder Selector

But it illustrates my point: You and me - we're coming from different directions - a lucky encounter for the mind unburdened by tech-reasoning (that would be me )

"What does this script do" vs "What does it do for ME, the user, not the program". Sure, it "enhances the output of some dialogs". No arguing that point, though I would have never dreamt of putting it that way. To me, it's a script to get help. Contextual help, as the name implies.

You're definitely right about the can of worms. I forgot about the links being hardwired. They won't auto-update if a category "tag" changes, they do actually sit in these categories. Well, no other solution I guess, than to discuss the most appropriate category, or rather, the most likely place where users would expect to find it.

Why not simply adding an unclassified category at the end of the list? Everthing not clearly caught by any category filter will end up at the bottom of the list.
