I was trying to be honest about XY -and- it was based on what gets posted here often -and- reading this comment there:

XYplorerFree seems to be showing its age, although that might be an advantage for anyone who shares the preferences expressed by Snowman123. Using it on a Win8 box, it didn't recognize the Library "folders" and gave me a tedious hourglass when I connected a camera to a USB port. Has anyone else had that experience?
I feel that a comment with some minor non-positive aspects will be looked at as being more genuine than one which is 100% positive...same for hotel/restaurant reviews...the glowing ones seem fake to me, ok? so..Saying that there are things on the roadmap doesn't detract from what it can do now...I think we can agree on that.
Update/addendum: Regarding fixes and delay -- The Free users won't be any more impacted by having to wait for next Official vers than the paid users who (for some unexplained reason) choose to only install non-beta vers. I'll admit I maybe didn't phase comment/email as perfectly as I maybe could have but it's at least technically accurate as written, I believe.

Hahaha I actually registered for a new account at 6am after being so frustrated with the system and this time I had no issues. I then proceeded to PM
George.J directly which is why knows about it.
Glyn, another admin, emailed me later this morning saying that my
Enternal account was actually perma-banned because it violated forum rules #2b:
b. Your username: you are not permitted to register a username that is your email address, may cause offense to other members (including usernames with religious meaning), or that consists entirely or largely of symbols / punctuation and numbers. If you register a name that matches or resembles a commercial software or service, or promotes another type of product, service, website or blog, or is associated with a red rated WOT (Web Of Trust) site, it will be rejected by the moderators and any associated posts removed.
I simply don't see how so. My new registered account
Enternal9 was fine. But yes, the software is simply a horror! The spam filter was just horrendous and I can't believe Gizmo still keep on using it after all these years.
@ Don. Yeah it might be a UAC location. I tried asking him again to see if it is. And haha. While I do like the Duplicate File Finder of XYplorer, I don't think it can compete with some of the more powerful clone finder like CloneSpy and the likes. XYplorer's version useful for quick analysis? Yes! I use it frequently. Powerful, not as much. For more in depth analysis with rules and what to do with the clones, I use CloneSpy or the others.
Also, this is what I actually sent George.J:
XYplorerFree has been revived! It's now up to version 13.60 from 5.55.
Just to note that it still does not support libraries and hardware support for cameras and the likes although it will be worked on.
There has been a lot of new features that have since been added and polished since version 5.55 such as Unicode, multilingual, breadcrumbs, powerful custom copy with verification, integration with FastCopy and TeraCopy, a lot optimizations for newer Windows OS, portable file associations and portable openwith menu, portable customization of file types icons, mini tree, zip support, times in UTC, quick file type filters (using dropdown), and a ton more. It's simply better to just look at the features page or the changelog.
I would love to post on your page but my previous account that I just opened a few hours ago got perma-banned because it thinks I'm a spammer. I already lost an account in the past because of it and now lost another. This spam filter system really is not good at all. Even spent the last couple hours trying to get an email to Ian through the contact us page but the spam filter won't let me.

Well, "Enternal" looks like a misspelled "Eternal", and misspelling is so typical for spammers.

Hahaha that's true! But at the same time, it still tells you how horrible that software is. Usernames are supposed to be flexible not "OH. YOUR NAME LOOKS LIKE A WEBSITE SPAM WARES PORNZ. BANNED." It's a horrible. Plain and simple. Makes me wonder how many potential users they have lost because of how trigger-happy it is. Well, in a way, they already lost me in the past and I'm quite patience.
Funny thing about my username is it IS a misspelling of Eternal. Back when I was around 8, there's an RPG that I LOVED (still do) that has the sub-name
Eternal Blue (I'm sure any RPG gamer might recognize this PSX title haha). Well, for whatever reasons, I keep reading it as
Enternal. And that's how I got the name.

Free users might not want to see the nag nor require a feature that they would lose in 30 days. As an alternative, the initial nag screen can include a button to use free from the start itself. You save yourself the hassle of uploading multiple versions.
Not sure which problem you want to solve.

There is no problem.
I was making betas available to Free users and avoiding you from uploading a file twice. As I see, the only issue with a single download is with differentiating between Free and Trial.
P.S: I haven't used the free version yet.

I see no point in making betas available to free users. On the contrary, I would rather restrict beta downloads to registered users. But the best solution is to keep it simple: as it is now.

Don -- just wondering -- Why are you not having a space between XYplorer and Free in some places? Now, the download file uses an underscore to separate which doesn't match that...are you thinking that by concatenating w/o a delimiter that it'll make it easier to track usage/reviews/etc online or something? Because I could see it being used both ways and defeating that idea...BTW, it seems that x2 Lite has it as two words as do most other software that I've found/used which have a Free or Lite vers.

The idea is to clearly show that it is not the same as XYplorer but closely related to XYplorer. Also the executable is called XYplorerFree.exe (you would not want a space there). Other products might play with ambiguity. I try to be as fair as possible. <insert icon of dev with a halo>

Ok...understood...hadn't looked at the EXE name..but just to be consistent, then you shouldn't have the "_" in download file name either...I know..very minor thing...and if there are other places where a space or _ exists that could be eliminated, it probably should be (such as the main title on the Free web page)...and on that page, the "the XYplorer Free Edition," is quite redundant and could be dropped with no ill effect.
And maybe we should start using a abbrev of XYF here as needed to distinguish it from paid vers? Ok, typing "ree" isn't all that much but i think a tiebreaker is helpful.

Like XYree?
Anyway, man I cannot believe how much time that stupid spam filter end up wasting. Anyway, glad it's sorted out now although I'm still frustrated at how they continuously to wrongly view us even though it's clearly their spam filter that got us so worked up about.

No, I was saying "XYF" saves me typing 3 extra chars vs "XYFree" and thus reduces chances of typo's...
And as to the other site..yup...I think had your original comment made it through, I'd have never even registered because one more complete comment is all that I/we wanted at this time.

It gotten to the point where I can no longer tolerate the way Gizmo freeware handles thing. My recent account "Enternal9" was just banned because they were thinking I was promoting a commercial product "Total Uninstaller" but I was merely referencing it and then talked about an alternative that is very adequate for the job (ZSoft Uninstaller). They deleted my posts and proceed to ban me.
In summary:
I was introduced to XYplorer thanks to Gizmo. XYplorerFree is re-released. I wanted to share that news and re-registered an account at Gizmo because I already lost my past credentials. First account Enternal was automatically banned by system. Asked Glyn and Glyn said I violated rule #2b which was not the case. Glyn said that actually my username choice is related to some malware site. He said I should make another account. Made Enternal9. Still could not post. PM mods MC and Anupam and discussed with them. Also made Silvernine0S to test the spam filter since the same exact message was working with Silvernine0S but not with Enternal9. Reported to Mollum who then fixed the problem. I reported the fix back to Gizmo. Naturally expected mods to delete Silvernine0S which MC did. Came to an understanding of the spam system and now that it's fixed, I don't need to worry. Wanted to participate in forum and talked about Software Uninstallers. I talked about Total Uninstaller and how it could not be beat but since it's paid, not a good option at all. I don't even have a license for that software. The only software I ever bought was XYplorer. Proceed to talk about ZSoft instead as how it was good and adequate although not updated currently. Hours later, found out I was banned. Asked Glyn. Glyn said I violated rule 17. Which is not the case as I did not provide any link to Total Uninstaller and did not intend to promote it and instead talked about ZSoft. Glyn held against me that my multiple accounts caused mods a lot of problems which is odd. I have 3 accounts but 1 cannot be held against me since that was automatically banned by the system since I have not idea the link between the name and a malware site.
I have attached the correspondence between me and Glyn in this post together with a copy of the rules. I left the community once because I ran foul of the spam filter even though during that time, I was asking for help with one of the freeware. I now once again leave this community because I made wrong decisions but there does not seem to be a willing to understand the situation from others. Even Glyn resorted to implying that I was a fanboy when my post in Software Suggestions was anything but:
XYplorerFree has been revived! It's now up to version 13.60 from 5.55.
Just to note that it still does not support libraries and hardware support for cameras and the likes although it will be worked on.

Just to note that Don, the author, is still trying to get his hands on Windows 8 which he will then proceed on getting hardware support for cameras and the likes since it's the highest on his todolist. He's been testing the software on Windows 7 on a VM machine since his main development in on Win XP. With a newer version of Windows, he should be able to test it better with library support and hardware support.

All in all,
tread that community lightly. They have a lot of spam and I understand that but when they allow legitimate users to fight against their spam systems AND they too fight against users who are running afoul of the spam system, things won't be pretty. I wasted 3 days on this. I think it should end now.
*REMOVED* Comment below. Both side have calmed down now. No more problems.
Seems like it really was our fault. There were many more people who attempted to email MidnightCowboy (admin) about it and ended up causing them frustration. I was pretty sure it was just me and j_c_hallgren but guess not. That's probably why they thought I made multiple usernames even though I only made 3, 1 cannot be used and another that was for testing only. Anyway, good luck to them. Sorry Don, we caused more harm than anything.

there are better freeware out there than it.
And a lot better people than you, Gizmo guys.

(I would be curious if you could really name one. I don't thinks so. Empty words.)
I don't think the efforts are not un-coordinated.
Yes. You caught me. I coordinated everything from the background.

You can call me MasterMind from now on.
