But if there are more thumbs than fit on one screen, how would you scroll without that bar using a mouse? AFAIK, it only shows when needed (too many immages for one screen)
yes, the mouse should be the only way.

no, j_c, even if images are not enough to fill whole screen the vertical scrollbar is visible (but without active handle).

I like the new Zoom to fill feature, but maybe there could be a tweak to Zoom to fill from the top. All my photos that are portrait mode are now headless.

Maybe some will like the zoom feature for exactly that reason!
Sorry couldn't resist.
But you are right and i think something can be done like a tweak or something: Zoom to- 0=as it is now, 1=top, 2=right, 3=bottom, 4=left.

Yep, that sounds reasonable to me also.

If not, I'll go back to the default, which I don't mind, or develop a belly button fetish.

I don't see the problem in that gallery
Apple folks would say "it's a feature, it's magic"

Back in topic, in the configuration there's this option, "top-align if vertically cropped". It's related to preview and not thumbnails, but maybe it could be honored in thumbnails too in this case?

I suppose there are a lot worse fetishes. :)
I too really like the new "Zoom to fill" feature though when working on photos (i.e.,cropping etc.) in large thumbnail view, it can be difficult to know what you've just accomplished in the thumbnail view until you view the image full/floating screen even with the tweak (ThumbsZoomToFillDrawStyle=1). Don, I know this may be impossible, but it would be fantastic if at some point this feature, Zoom to fill, was customizable per folder view setting...that would be the cat's meow.

Boah Ken,

this "cat" can't be for real, I rather expect this creature to be part of Sigfried&Roys Vegas show.

Question: Can I make this thumbs view even more compact?
Thumbs_Spacing.png
Caption is already off, but at least the 2nd row seems to have some space left to loose.

Cheers,

1. Sounds (almost) like MDBU.

2. Sounds like not possible.

If I can view/rename <curitem>, then it would be perfect
In the next version F2 will open the rename dialog.

I also see no problem at all there.

Well, "top-align if vertically cropped" -- I could do that but in a head shot you might end up just seeing the head hat, or lots of blue sky. Difficult.

Before I did the shot, I've set

Code: Select all

ThumbsZoomToFillDrawStyle=1
and cleared the thumbs cache. After another clearance (I changed to a different folder before, of course) it's the same.

This "cat", what the duck .....
