Am I correct in that this would be somewhat equivalent to having Templates stored in the catalog? If so, that could make usage easier.admin wrote:The way I plan it: store finding tabs (with full find settings) in the catalog, and restore them later at one click.
%temp% going to temp folder?

Oh.. ok. But that wouldn't really be "Name" Searches anymore then!ugus wrote:I mean name searches with switches that mimics all settings you can set in Find Files, that would be nice to being able to add to the catalogue.
Would be pretty much the same, but betterj_c_hallgren wrote:Am I correct in that this would be somewhat equivalent to having Templates stored in the catalog? If so, that could make usage easier.
Which reminds me, in this next feature, but also in the Save/Restore User Defaults, I think it'd be nice to also have the columns visibility stored. Cause when you save, I think when later on you restore you kinda expect to get the same thing as when you saved, and it might really not be the case now since the columns visibility isn't affected

Columns visibility is currently stored by-list-mode (Browse, Find...). When I added tabs (v3.60.0150 - 25.03.05 20:57 -- almost exactly 1.5 years ago!jacky wrote:Which reminds me, in this next feature, but also in the Save/Restore User Defaults, I think it'd be nice to also have the columns visibility stored. Sounds like a decent alternative to meadmin wrote:Yes, but that would need a pretty elaborate syntax (think of the Date tab alone!), not easy to handle and remember.ugus wrote:Later on it would be nice to let name searches support all the available switches that exists in Find files tab. ...admin wrote:Yes, the address bar has more power than the location field. Not an inconsistancy but a difference.
The way I plan it: store finding tabs (with full find settings) in the catalog, and restore them later at one click. Then you have also the sort order, column order, column width etc. set. And you don't need to learn anything new, just click "save tab" and "open tab". File under "catalog: tab items" when you next remind me...

2nd this (when you have time obviously)
Excellent idea !
Being able to store full search criteria in the catalog would eliminate my need for all the search templates to be listed in the right click context.
Would be my wished for one click solution (even better than 2 clicks in the context
).
Thanks
Andy
