As XY now shows large icons in Thumbnails mode, uploading in the 256x256 PNG compressed icons would be nice.
I do create multi-size icons (from png) and have the following sizes
16x16
32x32
48x48
64x64 (mostly)
128x128
256x256 (PNG compressed icon) -> a 256x256 non-png compressed icon takes a lot of space and hence it is compressed. I don't if Win XP and earlier would be able to show these icons, but they can make use of the 128x128 icons instead. Even XY preview doesn't show the 256x256 png compressed icon. This was trivial but now since Don allows showing large icons in Thumbnails mode, it would be good to start showing the png compressed icons as well.

@Don:
With all those high resolution monitors to enter the market the next years (*) I wonder wether XY could also support vector-based icons/symbols in the future. Would make seamless scaling much more seamless, I hope.
Cheers,
Filehero
*: Once a semi-pro 27"/30" 4k monitor is available at around 1-1.5 k€ I will get one for sure.

Me too.

If I can do it, I will do it.

Could one of you Win7+ users please tell me what icon sizes can really be used by XY under those OSes?
In Win7 shell32.dll, most icons only have 16/32/48 sizes! So are bigger sizes only used in thumbnails views?

You'll find them in ...\System32\
imageres.dll

Wow, so huge I just had to degauss my screen...
Thanks for the infos.
I'll check the Win7 imageres lib to try and prepare my XY for the future. . .
(at least until Don drop bitmaps in favor of svg!

Well, hard to guess what MS was thinking, some folder icons have 6 sizes (from 16 to 256), some 4, some 3...
Anyway, playing with opened and closed state rose a small request:

Shouldn't/Couldn't the active tab (ideally on both pane) display the "opened" state?
That would be logically in par with the tree and reinforce the visual impact when switching between tabs!
The

Yes, you have a point there, but then there would be a mismatch to Address Bar and Breadcrumb (soon) and Find Files Location icons. I'd rather keep this box closed for now. PFI is history.

The leading slash is rubbish, try this:
%personal%\ /r>blahblah.ico
(air fix)

Oops, the leading slash was rubbish on my part, but removing it doesn't help.

Oh yes, you are right. This works now:
I'll check why the simpler pattern does not work...
