As I told j_c_hallgren in a PM:
There's no doubt that some of us didn't put as much time and effort into it as we should have, I am very guilty of that, so I see where Don is coming from. Maybe I'll inquire with him and see if I can get the information up elsewhere, though that's a lot more effort than I was open to doing at the moment.
Or maybe it's a good time to start fresh. Part of the problem I had with jacky's wiki is it tried to cover everything in the help files and essentially be a replacement to Don's docs. Now that the help is CHM and thus actually usable maybe a more narrow focus for the wiki would be easier for us to maintain.
So yes, I would still very much like to see a wiki somewhere to document things like INI tweaks, tips and tricks, and more in depth scripting than what is (and should be) covered in the official help files. But I do not think the wiki needs to detail each and every menu item and configuration option, especially since that's all in the help files.
And I pledge that given that I'll pull my weight to keep it current this time around.

Fully understood! However, the one advantage that the wiki has in this regard is the ability for others to counteract any extreme or undesired behavior without it really affecting the results that the general public sees...so that if a given edit to a page seems to be going too far off tangent or isn't easy to follow, another user could (if desired) undo that edit or replace it with a better one...here in this forum, in most all cases, the best we can do is provide a followup post(s) which sometimes just makes it a bit messy to read later.
I think the only time that we'd ask from Don is to make sure that the wiki is as online as the forum is, and as backed up also...I don't foresee Don making any real significant contribution to editing the wiki, but if he sees something seriously amiss, maybe at least making a brief note of it so others won't be led astray and to get the attention of us who can address the issue.
I somewhat see the wiki as a variant of an XY clipboard where we can put reference items that can be found easier than here, as forum search can be frustrating at times, and it's much easier to locate a "fixed" wiki page than a given thread here.
I'd also pledge to try and do what I can within my limitations to keep wiki 2.0 from falling too obsolete...and part of that effort may well be to remove some sections/pages that are changing too often to be kept current.

I like that thought. Yes, maybe it's a good time to start fresh. The wiki not as a replacement but a complement of the official help files.
Currently no capacity though. I'll make a note for next year. (Of course, everybody is free to host such a thing on his server. MediaWiki is freeware.)

I wish to volunteer to host XYwiki. I have hosted my personal site for over 7 years. My experience will help to ensure the site is always available and has backups on a regular interval. If those on those forum agree I will host, setup, maintain, and contribute XYwiki at xywiki.info. Please advise your opinion.
Maybe we call it XYwiki 3.0... start with the last backup of XYwiki 2.0 and go from there. The idea going froward would be to not replace or duplicate the help file but supplement it.

Hi Don, FYI,
on this tour page there are still the dead links to the old wiki side:

At the button below "Here are some places where you can find free scripts to use and learn:"

So, next year came and went, I'm really missing the wiki.
I believe we have what it take to at least remove outdated info and that should be the basic requirement.
Personally I think I can spare the time to maintain the scripting commands/functions list.

Thanks for the offer, but it will not work. It's my experiencew/out exceptions, and it seems reasonable to learn from experience.

Would it be possible to have the backup files available for personal use please ?
(unofficially and without any guarantees on your part)

Ask jacky.
