Yes, plus the name of the folder. It's pretty redundant but safety belts are always redundant, right? Safety is the good side of redundancy.

"Attention, don't get fooled!", or, for a start, simply "Paper Folder"?
Thank you. :D :appl:

Btw, another excellent and tasty color!

Yeah and amazingly it just happens to match up seemingly well with my color choices!

Thanks for the shot: Shows me a bug in the tab caption. There should be no "paper:" there. :)

- Allow Zombies
- Always Show Path Column
- On Delete Remove Items from Paper Folder

are all experimental. I expected such trouble and I might remove them finally.
I toggled a quick search into paper folder. The QS contained files on portable drive. I have just got back to that paper folder now and I was very happy that I switched Allow Zombies on. Without this option the search results on an unmounted drive would have been removed silently. Instead of removing this essential option, it may deserve to be default. (Logically, if one doesn't like that unavailable files in the paper folder, they can swithch this option off (and it removes the unnecessary entries immediately from the paper folder.). But if you realize, that files were purged from paper folder silently which you wanted to be there, clicking Allow Zombies will help you only in the next similar case, but not in the actual one.)

sorry, i find PF infobar useless. :( yeah, it's like a notice, but it distracts from BC and doesn't really warn a user. a setting for background color would be more useful.!

I just simply feel it superfluous. (Already have paper plain icon in AB and Tab header, "paper:" text in BC. Without additional use I just feel the info bar unnecessary.)

I don't.

That is exactly why I did ask for an additional indicator.
All my custom folder icons refer to the folder's contents and not to their implementation. For instance, if I would iconize a tab of a paper folder containing cooking recipies the paper icon wouldn't be my first choice.

Switching it off is easy, just set the following tweak to off

Code: Select all

PFWarning=0

I started a fresh instance, added Paper Folder toolbar button, then created a PF by toggle. The result is a very interesting picture showing that the bar is overkill. I switch it off. Who likes it can keep it on of course. (Offtopic: and FVS still hasn't a proper visual clue. What a pity! :-()

Even easier:

Code: Select all

v14.30.0003 - 2014-07-13 13:08
+ Toolbar | Paper Folders: Added another setting to the right-click menu:
      - Show Information Bar in the List
Toggles the Paper Folder Information Bar.

Good to see this implemented in 14.30.0003.

Now there is just the matter of the AB icon.

Also, it would be useful if the Paper Folders TB button had an MRU list, similar to what is done on the Tabsets TB button.
Yep, I saw that short after uploading. Fix comes...

Once I tried to persuade you in vain to create a visual aid showing that an FVS is active on the current folder. A toggle button is not enough. http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11435 I envy PF that it has many visuals.
