It's a bug that will be fixed.
Hmm, I just tested this and it seems to work. :?

Thanks. Have to wait for the weekend to try it with my private gear.

Code: Select all

  >>> Portable Device: FYI, there is a serious shell bug (not an XYplorer bug; Explorer
has it, too) in Windows 8.1 that can lead to permanent data loss: When
moving an item to a Portable Device (from PC or from another location of
the Portable Device) where an item of the same name already exists then on
cancelling the overwrite prompt the move does not happen but the source item
is deleted anyway!!! Also X-closing the overwrite prompt will lead to the
      destruction of the source item.
This is the relevant interface (German only, sorry):

Can you confirm this bug? (It might be just a bug on my Nexus 10, who knows)

Havnt been keeping up to date on this topic, so plugging in my phone today gave me a huge surprise.
The speed of common tasks is very good for my droid. Congratulations!

however, after copying files to phone, the filelist isn't refreshed to show new files. Bug?

                * Portable Devices: Removed the USB Path column. Too nerdy, and if you
really need this info there can be other ways added later.
is this 'USB Path' something like '::{ABCDEF01-123A-AB12-CD34-01234567890A}\\\?\ [...] \SID-{10001,1234ABCD3456CDEF,3232323234}' ?
if so, then I hope you'd bring it back, I have a use for it. I've set up many shortcuts into my device using these paths (I get these paths from FreeCommanderXE)
Don wrote: Yes, it's those beasts. I can add something later to let you retrieve them for specific items. But not a column. Those values are not useful within a column anyway.
did you get around to doing this yet?

1. Strange, works fine here.

2. Use File | To Clipboard | Item UNC Path/Name(s) for it.

Thanks.

Moreover, I can't rename items. after a XY rename, filelist is updated with the new name, but with F5 reverts back. The only way to make renames stick is cts->properties-> renaming.

(on a Samsung GT S7582 w. Android 4.2.2 if it helps.)

Yes, confirmed for my Canon camera. I cannot rename nor create items on it, but -- damned -- the API claims success. So, some devices act like read-only. Oh well, at least the main thing works: copy stuff from them to a real computer. :)

No big deal for me, I don't actually have to manage the device's files all the time.
But anyways: Ctrl+V doesn't paste, ctx->Paste does. Same for delete etc. So I have forget about keyboard hotkeys on a PD. :kidding:

Hi Don,

with 14.80.0226 I can reproducibly crash XY ("XYplorer funktioniert nicht mehr...").

1. Plug the mobile
2. In the list show the root view in any tab (in my case both "drives")
3. With the list tab still in focus plug off the mobile
4. After the mobile is vanished from the tree (also co-reported by the assigned Windows sound) refresh with "F5" -> Paff!

Can anybody confirm?

No, cannot confirm. What do mean by root view? Root of the device?

With that tab/view focused I plug off the phone, then I hit <F5> and Windows strikes back...
Just confirmed again. :bug:
