Hello everyone,
I'm looking for someone who is fluent with HTML, the reason being that I'm not satisfied with the current user interaction with changelog display.
I'd like to display a floating bar over the changelog, this loaded in a iframe (or something similar that just requires the page address). A bar like this, http://envato.com/ , and such bar would contain a question followed by a yes button and a no button, which should have the native look of the OS. Things in the bar would be vertically and horizontally centered.
Is it possible? Is there someone who could help me?

SimpleUpdater 10.66 is out.
Just two minor tweaks, but you are encouraged to update nevertheless.

I'm amongst those who had to tweak their windows path variable. And I'm happy to confirm after just downloading the update (meaning taking no special care prior to): the 10.66 update works as smooth as before. Again, great job!

Thanks a lot for your maintenance and long time support. :)

Cheers,
Filehero

PS: Have you gotten any helpful input on your Envato-like-bar request?

Got this error (see attached file):
My Locale is still English-US
Maybe due to I'm in different time zone?

Either $time_here or $time_there or both is empty. Only you can find out why.

$time_there = ""
I think the reason is HTTP_checker.vbs
I ran this .vbs but resulted in error (thus HTTP_response.txt is always empty)
Detail error:
Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: Subscription out of range
Code: 800A0009

Sorry to be a bit OT, but isn't
< ("5400" * "1")
absolutely identical to
< 5400
but the latter seems to look "a bit more easy to read"?

Good to hear is working smoothly for you!
Re the bar... I talked with serendipity and we found out that there's a problem with using iframes, so we might use plain frames. That's the underlying idea, but I'm still looking for someone who can help me with the general visual aspect of the thing.

Ouch, I thought that was solved once and for all :(
What happens if you type

Code: Select all

%SystemRoot%\system32\cscript.exe
in XY address bar? Do you see this icon? Image
Also, did rev 10.65 work ok?

Ah ah yes, originally it was "3600" * "1", i.e. numbers of second in one hour times one hour. Now it should be "3600" * "1.5".

I quote everything, you never can tell...

Absolutely the same error to me :-(
I can see the icon.
10.65 worked. For a while.

What does that mean? 10.65 showed the same behaviour after, let's say, a week?

PS: Please try these steps
-in the ini file, clear the value LastModified
-still in the ini file, raise the Delay value to something high like 4000
-then run the attached script; once it goes in stepping mode, go to the variables and paste here the last one, i.e. $command
-click Continue; a dos window will pop up, close it after 4-5 seconds and tell me if it contains any error message

Ok, it works now.
I didn't change anything, just connect to another (faster) internet.

----------------
Another problem is:
If I double click SimpleUpdater.xys → Click Check for Updates → everything works fine.
If I call label with load "SimpleUpdater", "Updates" → Close the iframe → this dialog appear: $str00600_yLB2oLZnSvh3
This variable should be "Do you want to perform the updated?"

Oh, good to hear that!

The behaviour is "by design", to provide MLS. You should see the syntax on the first post if you wish to call directly the update subscript, i.e. call this block:

Code: Select all

   load "SimpleUpdater", "_Initialize";
   load "SimpleUpdater", "Updates";
   load "SimpleUpdater", "_Terminate";
