Getting folder size ...(ESC) in the statusbar

Just for fun I took it out again in 0111. Curious what will happen on your side... we are just talking about a statusbar message here...

I agree with you, that that message should not impact at all.

And yet, as you can see from my message above, there is a *small* but perceptable slowdown. (this is a folder with 3 subfolders each containing 497 files).

But I wouldn't persue it too much, as the difference is too small to worry about.

Will wait until I get 0111 and do the test again.

I know now what it probably is resp. was: when there are no selections in the list, the drive's used and free bytes are displayed and therefore re-calculated each statusbar flash. Also the icon changes. All this takes the time.

Actually in this case, the top folder of the three folders selected is showing in the statusbar, not the drive info.

Just an addendum to this,

I notice that you took out the 'Getting folder size ... (ESC) message in the statusbar, (I just download 0119. (I missed 0113) ). I also notice no more slight pauses anymore as well.
