Tab settings and their usage?

I don't know what exactly you plan, but why not simply call them "Tabs"? At least, this term should be straightforward to grasp, save it - load it.

Yeah. But for marketing I need something more catchy than "Tabs". Everybody has Tabs (OK, apart from Windows Explorer ) but nobody has Tabs that can be saved and loaded. Right?

imo, as this feature will mostly be about setting tab's data view parameters, i'd call it Viewset.
many programs have tabs, but none have feature that is going to come, so the name should kinda "stand out" too.(to look like a real new feature and not just enchantment, ... Tabs)

I was thinking maybe: Tab Profiles as profiles can be saved and loaded...or Profiled Tabs as variant.

Because templates is more connected with Search so need another term.

I think there needs to be Tab in name so the scope/area involved can be easily known.

BTW, 'Presets' implies, IMHO, somewhat that various settings are available to select from but not customizable whereas Profiles doesn't have that implication.

truly different places matter: for me it's vise-versa = Profile implies a limited number of settings(like Win profiles differ only in name, avatar and rights -all other structure is same). i called it Presets didn't really thinking for it as a name, but for me this means "pre-set=set of settings i made before".

There are more differences than that...my Start menus and such look totally different between my user profiles...the amount of custom settings in a profile depends on the software involved...some profiles are quite extensive and others are limited

To me, presets are vendor supplied canned groups of settings that can be selected but not then further customizable.
